If you sell information, you might pick a thing or 2 from here
Listen:
One of the critical parts of an irresistible offer is the part where you take the risk off the customer by offering them a Money-Back Guarantee...
Example:
"If at any point in the next 12-months, you don't agree that you got value for your money, just ask for a refund and you'll get your money back"
No doubt, a solid guarantee.
The type that gives people a strong convinction that they can get their money back if they're NOT saftisfied with the results.
However...
The problem with this sort of vaguely-worded Guarantee is:
You're opening yourself up to vampires.
Yes, if you have a great product that delivers on it's promises,
You'll hardly have people asking for their money back.
The few refund requests you get will be something along the lines of:
"To be fair, you have a great product, but I changed my mind. I'm no longer interested... Can I get a refund???"
And this is stupid.
This sort of rubbish is only made possible because of the choice of words in the brief Example I gave above.
Don't worry,
I'll show you how to structure your guarantees to prevent this sort of rubbish.
But first, here's why loose guarantees no longer make sense to me:
Can you ask for a refund after paying your school fees and getting all the materials for that semester?
Can you ask for a refund after paying for a Flight Ticket??
And in the traditional sense,
When you ask for a refund, you're supposed to send the product back right?
BUT in information marketing, especially in this digital era,
You can't even "RETURN THE PRODUCT"
Once you have access, you have access.
And who's to day you didn't have sinister intentions of deliberately ripping off the publisher by asking for a refund after gaining access to the materials???
Again, if your product is great,
And you have a solid sales message,
Conversions will be profitable and you won't have to worry about lots of funny requests for refunds...
Regardless, you still have to protect yourself from idiots who'll come asking for a refund with clumsy reasons like...
"I changed my mind, I'm no longer interested"
Here's how to do it:
Instead of saying:
"If at any point in the next 12-months, you don't agree that you got value for your money, just ask for a refund and you'll get your money back"
*
It's a much better to say....:
*
".... And If you thru your materials and implement what you learn consistently for 30-days, and you don't see any results, just send me an email with proof that you did the work.... And you'll get your money back.
NOTE: This is the only condition upon which you'll get a refund.
If you wake up tomorrow and say you're no longer interested and you ask for a refund. You won't get it. So if you're not sure if this is right for you...
Don't bother signing up. I'm only interested in serious action takers who will go thru these materials and do the work consistently."
*
Plain and simple.
You don't like the conditions???
Don't buy.
Another thing you can do to is remove refunds completely.
Make it abundantly clear that YOU DON'T OFFER REFUNDS.
Especially if you sell information.
You don't want to wake up one morning to a funny message like:
"I paid for your offer last month and I must say that you really delivered on your promises. BUT I'm no longer interested... Please can I get a Refund???"
One more thing:
You're probably thinking:
"But if I put conditions or remove refunds, will people still buy? Won't conversions drop?.... Won't I lose customers"
Nope.
Not if you're really serious about the kind of people you attract into your funnel.
And it all depends on how you write your copy.
Stay frosty.
A.
P.S: If you're spending your hard-earned money to impress a woman with hope that she falls in love with you....
Or you're tolerating shitty feminine behaviour in the name of being in love or being a gentleman...
You are a bloody fool.
